Kate Loannides Registered Veterinary TechnicianI was one of those kids that would reach for any dog I saw. That desire to touch every pup has never left me and I am very fortunate to make a living doing just that. In 2004, I graduated from Ridgetown College as a Registered Veterinary Technician and joined the team at the Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek in September 2007. I love how our Vets do their very best for each patient, and that each pet that comes through the door is treated as our own.
The best part of my job is dealing with pet behaviour. I love learning new ways to assist clients in managing problems and helping them create a stronger bond.
Outside of work, I spend my time with my two beautiful daughters, Anna and Olivia and husband Jason. I share my home with my two whippets Oskee and Ivy, an orange tabby named Pez, and our newest addition, a Persian mix named Phil. I have a passion for dog training and behaviour. I also enjoy hiking, photography and reading a variety of fictionPaula FrenchReceptionI joined the staff at the Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek in 1995 as a receptionist. I consider myself fortunate to work with the best veterinary team around. I truly enjoy interacting with our wonderful clients and their fur babies.
I live in Stoney Creek with my husband John and our combined family! I have always had a love for all animals and it shows with my collage of pets – dogs, cats and a horse (though not at my house)! I have soft spot for barn kittens needing a new home so if you need a new fur baby please let me know.
When not at work, I spend my time looking after my very busy household. I also enjoy a nice glass of wine. Brianna HolmesRegistered Veterinary TechnicianI have always had a strong passion for animals, having grown up in a household which let me bring home just about any pet. It wasn’t until I volunteered at the Oakville Humane Society, that I came to appreciate the role of an RVT. I graduated from Georgian College with honors in 2010 and feel incredibly fortunate to have found my forever home at AHSC. I am so grateful to work alongside a group of people who also cherish the human/animal bond and grow lasting relationships with clients and their fur babies!
My husband and I settled in Binbrook and now share all of our couch space with two young kids, two cats and a senior Beagle mutt. When I am not at the hospital or running around with the kiddos, you can catch me getting dirty in the garden or playing competitive soccer. Cassandra RaposoReceptionSince childhood, I've known that I wanted to work with animals and was delighted to join the team in April 2021.
I graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours degree majoring in Zoology. There I found my passion for marine invertebrates but unfortunately, you won't find any of them here in Hamilton. In 2019 I was lucky enough to go snorkelling in the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef (the second-largest barrier reef in the world) and in the future, I hope to see more of the world's oceans.
In my free time, I love being outside and going for Pokemon Go walks with my boyfriend, bird-watching, or running. On cold or rainy days, you can find me crocheting, reading or snuggling with my senior cat Bella. Andrea OlivieriVeterinary AssistantI have been a Veterinary Assistant since 2016. I have always had a love and passion for animals from an early age. Every day I feel lucky to be able to work with animals and to get the opportunity to continue to learn from such an amazing team! Animals have always had a special place in my heart and having the opportunity to help our clients and their pets is truly rewarding.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family, baking up delicious treats (of course bringing some for everyone at work), and managing the chaos of the 3 cats in my household, most of which were rescues or strays! Mackenzie Ward-MittonVeterinary AssistantIn 2019 I became part of the clinic as a co-op student. Shortly after, I got hired on as a Veterinary Assistant. I also provide sanitation to keep the clinic clean! I knew on my first day of co-op that this is exactly what I wanted to pursue. I’m now attending school to become a Veterinary Technician. I’m so enthusiastic about working at the Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek. I love all types of animals; I had dogs, cats, hamsters and fish growing up. My parents told me countless times “no more pets in the house”… but I always found a way to bring another one home.
I live in Stoney Creek with my mom; I also have 2 older sisters named Brooke & Taylor who both have cats. I currently have a hamster named Myrtle and a German Shepherd named Koda (aka bubbas). I have another part-time job as a professional, residential, and commercial cleaner. I enjoy working and feeling like I have a purpose in life. When I’m not working, I like to spend time with family/ friends and I enjoy my daily walks with my dog Koda.Kennedy Richeson Veterinary AssistantI am very fortunate to have joined the team in June 2022. I have had a fiery passion for animals since the day I was born. I am known for rehoming all of the famous barn kittens as well as rescuing a jersey calf named Norman and driving him home in my little Honda Fit.
I’ve spent my whole life thus far working in all disciplines in the equine industry. I graduated from Ridgetown with honours in the Performance Horse Handler Program in 2016 and spent the next 6 years exercising and training thoroughbred race horses. Although horses have always had my heart, it was time to take on a new and great opportunity to work with all of your furry friends here at the clinic.
I am the proud mom of my little miracle kitty Libbi, my Percheron Manny who is not so little, and Miss Deja my American Bully. In July 2023, I had to say goodbye to the love of my life; my Ellie Belly Bully lost her battle to osteosarcoma and in the end she needed to cross the rainbow bridge. I believe a small piece of her is still with me since Deja is Ellie’s beautiful niece who I love to keep busy on constant new adventures.
I look forward to seeing all of your fur babies everyday and coming home to explain to mine where I’ve been all day without them.EzzyClinic ResidentIn May 2024, our resident senior cat Ezzy crossed the rainbow bridge. Ezzy lived with us since spring 2023. She loved to sit on high shelves and would often make us gasp when her tiny arthritic self would leap to her favourite perch 4 feet away. She loved her chin scratches and reminding us where the Catit tubes live. She had no shame and would demand treats from each of us on turn even if she had just eaten her weights worth of snacks. Ezzy took care of us, always reminding us when it was time to pause for lunch or to start finishing up for the day. She was a cranky old lady with a heart of gold.
She was our unofficial emotional support cat and we'd often go give her a snuggle after a particularly difficult case. As much as we loved her, her health issues had us questioning whether she still had quality of life or if we were being selfish because it was too hard to let her go. Thank you for everything Esmerelda. Loving you has made us all better.Melanie RVTJoining the Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek team in December 2023 marked the beginning of an exciting chapter for me. Animals have been a constant in my life, making my decision to pursue a career as an RVT an easy one! I grew up in Grimsby where my family has a small farm with all different types of animals from goats and alpacas, to chickens and mini horses.
I started my journey back in high school when I started volunteering at my local animal hospital. I graduated from St. Lawrence College with honors in 2022 and soon after wrote my board exams to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist.
Outside of work, I love to play guitar, soccer and spend time outdoors with my friends and family. You will often find me baking, reading a good book, or playing with my two dogs Gracie and Zoey.JamieRVTMy passion for this field began at 16 when my family and I moved from Dundas to Wingham, and our beloved family dog, Chelsea, became very ill. We took her to a local veterinarian, who not only provided compassionate care but also valued my input and treated me as an adult. Unfortunately, Chelsea was diagnosed with cancer and eventually passed away, but this experience opened the door to the world of veterinary medicine for me. The vet who cared for Chelsea offered me a position at his clinic, becoming my mentor and teaching me everything he could about animal care.
Inspired by this experience, I went on to study at Sheridan College in the Animal Care program, which led me to pursue the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College, where I graduated in 2010. I have now been in the veterinary field for 21 years, with 14 years as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
I am passionate about caring for animals and seeing them recover and improve. I also enjoy working on interesting cases and contributing innovative ideas to help in their healing process. Beyond patient care, I find great joy in teaching others. I love sharing different techniques and procedures to promote the best care for our patients and fostering a strong work ethic in the clinic.
I have 2 dogs named Buckshot and Tony. Buckshot is an older gentleman and he enjoys his stuffed animals and snuggling with his daddy. Tony is the younger one – he has a serious ball obsession and loves snuggling with mom. The handsome kitty cat is named Mr Fox – he is the king of the house and loves spending time with his brothers while occasionally reminding them who’s the boss.
A fun fact about me is that I’m currently learning astrophotography—it’s fascinating to explore the vastness of our universe and ponder life’s greater mysteries.
